What is APIR?

APIR (apir.ai) is the evidence record for AI agents. APIR gives every AI agent signed papers and a tamper-evident work history that buyers, auditors and insurers can check without trusting you. It also seals files and checks a business before it is bought. It is operated by RIPA PTY LTD in Adelaide, South Australia, and is not APIR Systems, the financial identifier provider.

What does APIR stand for?

Audit, Proof, Identity, Record. Audit for the log book, Proof for the signatures and timestamps, Identity for the agent's signed ID, and Record for the history anyone can check.

Can APIR keep the record for an agent that runs outside APIR?

Accepted Answer

Not self-serve yet. Today the papers and the log book cover agents that run on APIR. During the founding pilot, APIR papers an outside agent and loads its events by hand; the API for doing it yourself is not built yet.

How do I check whether a file was sealed?

Drop the file at apir.ai/seal/check. It is fingerprinted in your browser and never uploaded. APIR says whether a named person sealed a declaration over those exact bytes, and for images and video whether something close to it was sealed. It never says whether a file is real or fake; an unsealed file is not a fake.

What does a seal prove?

That a named person declared the stated words over those exact file bytes no later than the date on the seal. The record is append-only and its head is timestamped each night by an outside RFC 3161 authority, and every seal has a portable proof that checks offline. APIR sealed the declaration and the files; it did not determine how the work was made.

How do I check a business seller's numbers?

Two tests run free at apir.ai/check-numbers: the tax return against the management accounts, and the receivables the billings imply against the receivables reported. For a signed answer, the Triage Verdict has a person read the documents and state within 48 hours whether the figures are consistent, inconsistent or insufficient. It is not an audit, a valuation or advice.

How do you verify an AI agent's papers?

Enter the agent's name or passport ID at apir.ai/check-agent. APIR re-checks the Ed25519 signature against its published key (apir.ai/.well-known/jwks.json, did:web:apir.ai) and reports the result. The signature can be checked offline without trusting APIR.

Is APIR a compliance platform or an insurer?

Accepted Answer

No. APIR does not run compliance programmes, does not insure or broker anything, and gives no legal, tax or valuation advice. It keeps a record and runs checks; what anyone does with the answer is theirs.

Every check is free and needs no account, the first papered agent is free, and sealing is free for a person. Paid acts, such as the Evidence Pack, Wage and Crew, the Numbers Check, the Triage Verdict and API use, each carry one fixed price on the rate card at apir.ai/pricing.
